MDC deputy chair, Zengeza West MP, Sikhala has called on Zimbabweans to flood Harare streets in anti-Mnangagwa Zanu pf regime protests.

MDC deputy national chairperson – Job Sikhala – yesterday made sensational claims that an attempt had been made on his life this week, Daily News reported.
This comes weeks after Sikhala’s lawyers also told the courts that he was nearly killed by police during his controversial transportation to Masvingo earlier this month, where he is facing trial on charges of attempting to overthrow President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government.
Defiant Sikhala has called on Zimbabweans to invade the streets of Harare in anti-government demonstrations.
Addressing party supporters in Harare South constituency’s high density suburb of Hopley last Sunday, Sikhala bemoaned the fact that the majority of the country’s youths were highly educated yet they were jobless just like their uneducated peers.
The MDC deputy chairperson and Zengeza West legislator, Job Sikhala, who is out on $5,000 bail is facing a subversion charge,.
Sikhala was arrested last Tuesday in Harare, following utterances he made at a rally ahead of the just ended Bikita by-election, where he allegedly said: “We will overthrow President [Emmerson] Mnangagwa before 2023.”
His trial will commence on July 24 at Bikita Magistrates’ Court.
Sikhala was charged with attempting to subvert the government, a crime that carries a 20-year jail term on conviction. Sikhala, through his lawyers, has denied the charge.
The charges against Sikhala stem from a video circulating on social media, in which he is seen and heard telling supporters at a weekend rally: “We are going to take the fight to the doorsteps of Emmerson Mnangagwa. We are going to overthrow him before 2023. That is not a joke.”
